Grooming Upkeep
At Plush Pups, we want your pup to have the best experience when being groomed. We have included useful information in regards to the best tools and methods to best maintain your pups coat between grooms. We encourage using tasty treats and giving praise during your grooming routine

Curly/Wool Coats (eg. Cockapoo, Poodle)
- Brush required
Slicker brush with long spokes to help detangle - Brushing schedule
3-4 times a week depending on length - Grooming schedule
Every 6-8 weeks depending on length

Silk Coats (eg. Spaniels, Afghan Hound)
- Brush required
Pin brush with softer spokes to gently detangle - Brushing schedule
2-3 times a week depending on length - Grooming schedule
Will depend on chosen styling

Wire Coats (eg. West Highland White Terrier, Fox Terrier)
- Brush required
Bristle brush to keep coat tidy - Brushing schedule

Smooth coated dogs (Labrador, French bulldog)
- Brush required
Bristle or rubber brush to help maintain shedding - Brushing schedule

Top tips for desensitisation
- Paw touching
- Use a hairdryer at home to help with sensations and noise
- Try to brush pups on a raised surface such as table or countertop
- Introduce a brushing routine
Amazing service! my pug has always hated the groomers and the vets but having Rachel come our home to wash him and do his nails has really helped his confidence and is super convenient for us too.
